Please note that the GCSE results will be available on Thursday 22 August and your son/daughter may arrive at the College from 9.00 am until 10.00 am to collect them. If it is not possible to attend on this date, please send a stamped addressed envelope to Mrs Quinn by Friday 19 July at the latest (please note that post will not be delivered to St Gregory’s between Friday 19 July and Monday 2 September) and the results will be sent to you (please see attached sheet). Please note that the telephone switchboard will be operated from 9.00 am until 3.00 pm on Results Day.

This results day is of course very different from previous years because now for the first time many of our Year 11 students will be staying on for the sixth form. On results day, there will be senior staff and curriculum leaders available to advise on sixth form courses, should there be any need to change courses in the light of the results.

Students will be able to register their interest in a possible course on results day. The formal registration for courses will take place on Wednesday 4 September when the students will be asked to register with their teachers and obtain signatures of acceptance. On the day there will be further help and guidance and a general introduction to sixth form life. It is unlikely that students will need to be present for the whole day.

I will be writing to all parents to confirm the arrangements for the beginning of the new academic year, but please note that the first day of term for Year 12 students is on Wednesday 4 September, when they should report for assembly at 9.00 am. The day will involve final sign up for courses and other practical arrangements to ensure a smooth start to the sixth form. Students should be dressed according to the sixth form dress code. The next school day for Year 12 will be on Friday 6 September (Thursday 4 September is Year 11 target-setting), when all students will report for the beginning of the new academic year.

I wish you all a restful and enjoyable summer and I look forward to seeing the students on results day on Thursday 22 August.

Yours faithfully

R Friel
Executive Headteacher
