Alex Jenkins, a former student at St Gregory’s, is looking forward to, what he hopes will be, his breakthrough year in 2017 after attracting a huge amount of interest with his performances at college level, as reported in the Bath Chronicle this week.

The 23-year-old moved to the States four years ago after achieving a full scholarship to attend the University of the Incarnate World in San Antonia, Texas. Since then Alex has been made a remarkable amount of progress in his sporting career.

Despite suffering some minor injury setbacks, Alex has been tipped for great things in the sport and has already had meetings with scouts from several different NFL teams.

Alex is determined to push on and has already signed on with an NFL agent – following closely in the footsteps of his former roommate and Detroit Lions star, Cole Wick.

Miss Bowman remembers Alex’s class ‘the jammy dodgers’ and even managed to find an old class photo!

“Alex was a joy to teach for GCSE science, a very mature boy for his age, cool, calm, collected and always incredibly polite. When nagging Alex about science homework and revision I had a sneaking suspicion that his mind was elsewhere … dreaming big!”

Congratulations to Alex on his successes so far and we hope that he achieves his ambitions for 2017 and beyond.
