Hockey Match Report by Jemma (Year 11)

On Tuesday 19th September a group of Year 10 & 11 girls went to Norton Hill to play them at hockey.Considering the girls’ hockey club had previously only had one training session they played impressively well together.

At the beginning of the match, we had lots of possession of the ball. All twelve girls who played brought a high level of enthusiasm and there was a clear sense of good teamwork.

The second half of the match improved with a great defence system from Nicole, Bernice and Ashling. Lily in goal did a fantastic job of defending, preventing the opposition from scoring on multiple occasions. There was some brilliant attacking moves from Maeve, Holly and Lauren.

The final result was 3-0 to Norton Hill however, overall it was a great start to the season. The player of the match went to Inez for excellent placement skills and a great amount of effort as well as enthusiasm.

Well done girls!
