This week students at St Gregory’s, and across Bath, have been casting their vote on who they would like to be the next Member of Youth Parliament representing Bath and North East Somerset for the next year.

This position is a great opportunity and the successful candidate will become involved in a variety of events, campaigns and projects, develop a working relationship with their local MP’s and attend the House of Commons to debate.

Niall B, one of our Year 12 Politics students, stood against five other students from across the region. Niall’s manifesto promises included:

  • Improvement of PSHE in school
  • Extend the age of a child’s ticket on buses and trains to 18
  • Create a national living wage for all

We had an incredible turnout over the past two days, with hundreds of our students turning up to cast their vote on who would represent them.

We shall wait in anticipation for the results to be announced on Friday the 11th of March.

Many thanks to everyone who voted!
