After the festive season of Christmas and New Year, the French now mark the feast of the Epiphany by eating the ‘Galette des Rois’ (King’s Cake) this month (January only).

Year 8 tasted an apple version of la Galette des Rois in class and Sebestien found the ‘feve’ (charm) in his slice of cake; so he got to wear the crown that comes with the cake and be named King.

The students really enjoyed the story and cultural information about this very old French tradition, but also la Galette!
