Thirteen students from Hangzhou Pingyao High School, China, visited Saint Gregory’s from 15 – 19 July 2019, facilitated by Chinese educational agency Unieducation.

The students were welcomed to Saint Gregory’s at a presentation on the Monday morning, during which they each received a school tie from Headmistress, Ms Cusack, as part of their induction into school life in England.

The students joined Saint Gregory’s buddies in Year 8 for Enrichment Activities, which included a STEM Workshop, and day visits to both Glastonbury and ‘We the Curious’, the science museum in Bristol. The week-long visit concluded on the Friday; the Chinese students attended class lessons with their Year 8 Saint Gregory’s buddies and took part in an end of week celebration in the school Hall, with each Chinese student receiving a certificate in acknowledgement of their time at Saint Gregory’s.

It was a truly enriching week, with students having opportunity to learn about each others language and culture. Internationalism and global learning is firmly embedded at Saint Gregory’s, with a wide range of international activities taking place throughout each academic year.
