Fifteen Chinese students, from Hangzhou Yuhang Pingyao No1 Middle School, visited Saint Gregory’s from 8 – 11 July 2019, facilitated by the Chinese educational agency, Unieducation.

Students were welcomed to the school at a presentation on the Monday morning, where they each received a Saint Gregory’s school tie to wear throughout their visit, that they could take home with them to China as a reminder of their time at school in England.

The students were taken on a tour of the school, and attended a wide range of curriculum lessons with Saint Gregory’s buddies across Years 7, 8, 9 & 10. Sixth Form Ambassadors from Year 12 assisted with the welcome arrangements, conducting the school tour for the Chinese teachers.

Students were able to share about life in England and China and to gain insight into each other’s’ language and culture.

An end of week celebration, including performances by the students, took place in the Hall, with the Chinese students being presented with certificates in acknowledgement of their time at Saint Gregory’s.

Internationalism is firmly embedded at Saint Gregory’s, with international learning and activities taking place throughout the academic year, equipping students with a wide range of skills for life in today’s global world.
