The government have now released the list of people that they consider to be key workers. This can be found via the link below:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision

The government have been very clear that parents are to keep their children at home, wherever possible, and asked schools to remain open only for those children who absolutely need to attend. As a school, we do not have the capacity to manage large numbers of children so are asking parents and carers to only use this provision if there are no other, safe alternatives. If children can stay safely at home, they should, to limit the chance of the virus spreading.

ONLY KEY WORKERS WHO HAVE BEEN EMAILED DIRECTLY SHOULD SEND STUDENTS IN AS ARRANGED.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL UNLESS IT HAS BEEN ARRANGED IN ADVANCE.

If you believe that you may need to send your child into school next week, please email us urgently at keyworker@st-gregorys.org.uk so that we can ascertain need and allocate our limited resources. We will then contact you this afternoon by telephone to discuss individual needs and make arrangements for Monday.

Please note that:

  • If you have already contacted us, you do not need to do so again
  • If you are a key worker but do not intend/need to use this provision, you do not need to contact us
  • This only applies to key workers
  • If you are not a key worker, you do not need to let us know of this and we will assume that your family will be following guidelines set out for school closures.

We know that many of you may have questions on what these changes mean for your family. In the first instance, can we please ask you to check the link below which contains useful information for parents and carers as a result of school closures:

Your help and support in this matter is greatly appreciated.
