The Governing Body

The Governing Body consists of sixteen members. The full Governing Body meets usually once in each of the six academic terms, with additional sub-committees meeting more regularly. The committee structure deals with specific issues relating to finance, Christian vision, curriculum, student achievement, student welfare, the joint Sixth Form with St Mark’s, premises, and staffing.

  • I am a Chartered Engineer, and was appointed a Foundation Governor in January 2017. As an Engineer, I have had extensive experience with capital investment and management of infrastructure operations, including developing strategic plans, and audit activities. I live in Bath and attend St John the Evangelist Church, where I am a member of the Liturgy Committee, a Eucharistic Minister and lead the Altar Servers. As a Governor my focus will be working as part of a team to promote the Catholic faith within education, and support the performance of an already outstanding school.

  • I have served as a Governor since 2005, initially as a Parent Governor, and since 2009 as a Foundation Governor. I am currently Chair of the Christian Vision Committee and also serve on the Curriculum & Achievement and various other committees. Since 1982 I have taught Mathematics, Economics and Business at GCSE, A Level and for IB, including 5 years in a catholic school in Portsmouth. My husband, who is Clerk to the Governors, and I have two sons who both attended St Gregory’s. I am very involved with my parish, St Dunstan’s, Keynsham, and am also a member of the Teresian Association.

  • I have been a Governor since 2001, currently as a Foundation Governor, and previously as a Parent Governor when my children were at St Gregory’s. I am Chair of the Finance & Premises Committee.  I live in Bath and work for the MoD in Bristol as a naval architect.  Being a Governor gives me an opportunity to contribute to the development of St Gregory’s as an outstanding school and especially to the creation of a Christian sixth form in Bath, as the next stage in our journey.

  • I am a foundation governor from St Peter and Paul parish, Combe Down, where I am the catechist and one of the sacristans.  I have three adult children, all of whom attended St Gregory’s.  I have been a teacher for 44 years:  6 years at St Thomas More Catholic Comprehensive in Bristol, and then at St John’s Catholic Primary in Bath. I now do supply teaching at St Mary’s Catholic Primary in Bradley Stoke, Bristol. I am an active member of the Scout Association where I act as an assistant Beaver leader and a member of the Adult Appointments Committee.

  • I was elected as a Parent Governor in March 2013 ,and I became a Foundation Governor in 2016. I currently serve on the Finance & Premises and Staffing Committees. I have two children and have worked as an NHS hospital pharmacist for more than 21 years. One of the main roles in my job is to ensure we have the correct funding and systems in place to facilitate the implementation of National (NICE) guidelines. I am a member of Our Lady and St Alphege’s Parish and assisted as a First Communion catechist for a number of years. I want to assist the staff in maintaining high standards and values.

  • I became a foundation governor for St Mary’s parish in Bath in 2011. I was HMI for schools and colleges until 2002 when I became an independent consultant, working for several national and international bodies including the NHS, the European commission and the Catholic Education Service. I am strongly supportive of the joint sixth form project and hope to contribute to establishing a vibrant ecumenical sixth form in Bath.
