Admissions Arrangements Consultation 2024-2025

Following a public consultation, the Governing Body of St Gregory’s Catholic College have determined their admission arrangements for the 2024-2025 school year.  The arrangements can be viewed here.

Click here for the Admissions Arrangements Consultation 2024-2025 letter.

These arrangements include the following amendments:

– Children with a sibling at the school from wherever they live (not from just within the school’s designated area) at the time of enrolment (rather than at application and admission) will receive priority (after those attending a named partner primary school) within each criteria category, rather than being in just an individual criterion category (see ii) on page 2).

The school’s designated area consists of 19 Catholic parishes (see Note 12 on page 7 & 8) including all of (rather than just parts of) Our Lady Queen of Apostles, Cheddar and St Michael, Shepton Mallet parishes, but will no longer include St Augustine of Canterbury Parish, Downend.

– Parents wishing to apply for a place outside of the normal admissions round, must complete the new In-Year application form at the end of the Admission Arrangements (see In-Year Applications on page 4).

– A waiting list of those still seeking a place will be maintained until the end of the school year, rather than until 31 December (see Waiting Lists on page 4).

– Children of other (non-Christian) faiths will receive equal ranking with children from other Christian denominations (see criterion category 7 on page 2) and that ‘Other children living within the designated area’ will no longer receive priority before ‘Any other children’ (see criterion category 9 on page 2).
