Location, Facilities & Transport

Location Facilities and Transport

We are located at the southern gateway to the World Heritage City of Bath with beautiful views towards the Severn Estuary and over Bath. Access to the school is easy as it is on main bus routes and next to the Odd Down Bath Park and Ride terminus. There is limited parking on site and additional spaces at Odd Down Football Club adjacent to the school on Combe Hay Lane.

We promote student safety and well-being with on-going investment in better facilities for students. In addition to state of the art teaching and learning facilities, St Gregory’s also benefits from a safe and attractive ‘piazza’ area in the heart of the school; the Gilchrist Studio, home to our specialist dance and drama centre and a new all-weather pitch with facilities for football, tennis and athletics. More recent developments include the Gateway Building, a purpose-built learning environment of the highest quality, including a dedicated learning resource centre for sixth form students.

In 2016, building work was completed on an extension to the Gateway, our dedicated sixth form facility. The development extended the Gateway building to provide an increased social/study area on the ground floor with a new catering facility. The first floor extension is the new home for The Well, a pastoral centre and common room for our sixth formers.

Saint Gregory’s is privileged to have a number of diverse spaces which are now available to hire. These include a variety of multi-purpose teaching and social spaces, conference rooms and sports facilities.

For all bookings, viewings and enquiries, please contact the school’s Premises Manager on 01225 832873. Further information on availability and charges can be found here.

Whilst transport to St Gregory’s is the responsibility of parents, we actively work with parents and the Local Authority to ensure there are cost effective and attractive bus routes to school from within our catchment area.

Wiltshire County Council and South Gloucestershire County Council no longer offer any practical support in providing transport for pupils travelling to St Gregory’s. The school does, however, run its own school transport service from Chippenham via Corsham, Box, Bathford and Batheaston and from Kingswood via Warmley, Longwell Green, Saltford and Keynsham. Parents may apply to purchase an annual seat on these buses and pay the school direct.

These services are offered in addition to the transport services that the local authority is able to provide in the Bath area.

Somerset County Council also provide a coach from Shepton Mallet and Wells to St Gregory’s.

For more information on transport please contact the School Finance Officer.
