25 June 2014 – Year 12 Induction Day

We are writing to remind you that our induction day for The New Sixth will take place on Wednesday 25 June from 9.00am – 3.10pm.

We expect students intending to join The New Sixth to attend the induction day as your teachers will give you important information to help confirm your subject choices and will be setting you tasks to prepare you for sixth form study. There will also be opportunities for you to experience taster lessons and meet new teachers. There will be staff on hand throughout the day in the Bond Pavilion to provide information and guidance on other aspects of the sixth form such as transport, IT options, and bursaries. It would be useful if you could bring pens/pencils etc, as you would for normal lessons.

If you are unable to attend the day but are likely to come to The New Sixth, please tick the appropriate section on the reply slip attached.

On arrival please sign in at the desk in the Bond Pavilion. Refreshments will be provided from 9.00am. Please bring a packed lunch if you wish, or you may buy a hot meal from the canteen at lunch time. You will not be required to wear uniform but please dress sensibly. The New Sixth dress code is formal business attire and further details of the dress code will be given out on the day.

In order to help us with our planning please complete the slip attached and return in the stamped, addressed envelope provided.

Yours sincerely

Mr R Friel
Headteacher

Mrs C Boardman
Head of Sixth Form
