Saint Gregory’s Bath has achieved the International Schools Full Award from the British Council in recognition of its continued high quality level of links with schools around the world.

This prestigious award is made for three years and show that an international dimension is firmly embedded into the school.

To achieve a full award we had to have at least 7 active projects underway. These include our links to a long list of European countries, Germany, Spain, France Italy, Norway, Iceland, Finland, Turkey and Greece, alongside our well established links to China and India.

Many of the programmes develop teaching resources and live internet links for the classroom which are shared between the partner schools so that students become more aware of the life in other countries. Some of these links are funded by the EU and have allowed numbers of students to travel to conferences abroad.

Each year we host many visiting students and teachers in the school. They are keen to find out about the English education system and visit the sites of Bath.

20 Year 7 Chinese students have joined Saint Gregory’s for the past 4 summers and each spring we welcome a group of Chinese sixth formers for a 2 week placement. These students have been homestay guests of Saint Gregory’s families during their stay.

Many of our faculties organise study visits abroad. These, coupled with language exchanges, sports, skiing and overseas adventures, will give a large number of our students life-changing experiences which they will remember as highlights of their time at Saint Gregory’s.
