Performing arts students are buzzing with melody and excited anticipation for this year’s eagerly awaited winter production that is sure to set the southern hills of Bath alive with the sound of music.

The world’s most iconic musical goes on stage  from Thursday 25 – Saturday 27 January 2018 at 7.00pm, bursting with song in this much-loved family tale of love, courage and determination. Rehearsals are coming along at apace and students will be making the most of their well-earned Christmas break before wowing audiences next term.

The Sound of Music tells the musical story of Maria and the von Trapp Family, thrilling audiences with its unforgettable score that includes some of the most memorable songs ever performed on the musical stage including “My Favourite Things”, “Edelweiss”, “Do-Re-Mi”, “Sixteen Going on Seventeen”, “The Lonely Goatherd”, “Climb Ev’ry Mountain”, and the title song “The Sound of Music”.

Our young performers are adding the final touches to this winter’s production as they prepare to act, dance and sing their hearts out in this timeless classic where the sound of music will, quite literally, fill the air and sprinkle a dusting of Rodgers and Hammerstein magic over their very own Von Trapp family singers.

Head of Performing Arts, Mr Psirides, said: “One of the best things about doing a school show is seeing friendships and bonds formed across the year groups, and with it comes a feeling of great support amongst our young people. We also wanted our casts to take ownership of the work and rehearsals have been an ensemble effort, with lots of creative and imaginative ideas coming from the students themselves as well as staff. It is a wonderfully uplifting show, and we hope the audience enjoy it as much as we have enjoyed rehearsing it.”

Tickets are open to the public and on sale next term from the main reception. To reserve tickets in advance, telephone 01225 832873.
