Josephine and Ashling in Year 11 will be ‘Braving the Shave’ at St Gregory’s for Macmillan Cancer Support on Friday 23 February, shaving their hair off entirely and hopefully raising a huge amount for charity. Having launched their Just Giving page just 12 days ago, they have already raised a staggering £1,930 and the amount continues to grow daily. Their initial goal to raise £1,000, whilst raising awareness of the reality of cancer treatments, has been surpassed beyond all expectation.

After half term, the girls will be presenting to all year group assemblies about their fundraising campaign and detail some of the incredible work that Macmillan do to offer support and help to all families affected by cancer.

To support the girls in their endeavours, we will be holding a fundraising Mufti Day for staff and students on Friday 9 February with all donations going towards Macmillan Cancer Support. Please ensure you / your son/daughter brings in a pound (or more!) to donate on the day.

We do appreciate that for some students discussions about cancer can be upsetting or distressing – for all sorts of reasons. If you feel that you / your son/daughter may need support during the event, please let us know. We would also signpost anyone wishing to find out more about Macmillan, or to access their support services, to contact them in confidence on 0808 808 00 00.
