Dear Parents and Carers,

Monday 18 June marks the start of business as usual for Year 12 following their exam and progression week. I have been incredibly impressed with the commitment and serious minded attitude shown throughout the past two weeks. Our students have been a credit to themselves.

Miss Butler, Director of Sixth at Saint Gregory’s

Following the success of progression week, students must now start to seriously consider their next steps post- A levels. If that is University, they should start to write their personal statement and submit this to a member of staff for review. If they wish to
apply for an apprenticeship or employment, Unifrog can help them prepare a CV for submission and again staff and tutors can review this and offer their best guidance.

Students will receive the results of their Year 12 exams over the coming week. Their reports will be published to share these results and predicted grades for UCAS. These will be reviewed at the end of October so if a student feels they can do better, they have the opportunity to prove this to staff. It is vital that students approach their feedback with the same focus and serious minded attitude they showed in the exam week. This will ensure they are able to maximise on their strengths and address their weaknesses.

Students and staff at the New Sixth are looking forward to welcoming the Y12 cohort for September 2018 on Tuesday 26 June. We hope to see as many students as possible there.
