This week in assemblies we officially launched our annual Christmas Present Appeal linking it to the capacity we all have to be saints of today.

To quote Pope Francis: “The Saints we not superhuman. They were people who loved God in their hearts, and who shared this joy with others.”  Each of us has the ability to share that joy with others by putting love into a gift that will be handed out to a person who truly needs Christmas joy this year. This year we have decided to link up with local charities such as the Salvation Army and hopefully one other, who can use their links to share out our presents with people in our community who are going through hard times and will appreciate the love you can give this Christmas.

Whereas in previous years we’ve wrapped and filled shoeboxes for children, this year you can send in and wrap presents of any size for both children and families – we can then label them accordingly. Some tutor groups are choosing to try and fill a sack or stockings with a variety of gifts, so please do ask your children what they’ve decided to do. Thank you for all the kindness and support you give to so many charities and good causes through supporting students, it truly is a reflection of the Gospel values we hold dear in our school community.
