Last Saturday some of our Chaplaincy team led a stall at the Roots Connection Christmas Market in Stratton-on-the-Fosse. Roots Connection are a charity who work with the homeless in Wells and surrounding areas, as well as providing intervention and support through blended learning opportunities on their farm. We have benefitted in the past from working with them, so we were delighted to be able to support their first Christmas Market.

By the start of the market, we were still feeling the after effects of Storm Arwen, so thankfully we were able to avoid the blustery conditions by setting up in a barn (all feeling very festive!). Our students had spent the last couple of weeks creating Christmas charm bracelets which they sold on the day, as well as running a bracelet workshop at the stall and entertaining the children with ‘Pin the nose on Rudolph’.

Being able to take our students to community events such as this is a truly humbling experience. We received so many kind comments about the character of all those who led our stall and we are grateful for them taking the time to represent themselves and the school.
