The Governing Body of St Gregory's Catholic College, Bath, is consulting on their proposed admission arrangements for the 2028-29 school year. The proposed changes from the existing arrangements are:
i) The introduction of a new criterion category, i.e. no. 8 ‘Children who are a member of an Eastern Christian Church (see note 7)’.
ii) Children who do not qualify for a place under criterion category no. 7. Children who can demonstrate an aptitude in the performing arts, i.e., Music, Dance, Drama (up to a maximum of 17 places) – will not be automatically placed into the final ‘Other Children’ criterion, but will be considered under categories, 8, 9 and 10, if appropriate.
The oversubscription section, the Supplementary Information Form and the In-Year application form, within the proposed arrangements have all been updated to reflect the proposed new criterion.
You are invited to provide any comments you may wish for consideration on the proposed arrangements by 31 January 2027. Final arrangements will be determined by 28 February 2027 and will appear on the school website by 15 March 2027.

How to apply for entry into Year 7
For parents and carers considering a place at St Gregory’s for entry into Year 7, we would advise that in the first instance parents/carers follow the guidance as issued by B&NES at http://www.bathnes.gov.uk/services/schools-colleges-and-learning/admissions-schools or your home Local Authority.
Application forms must be submitted directly to the home Local Authority, to arrive no later than 23.59 hours on 31 October.
If your child is a baptised Catholic, you must also provide a copy of the baptism certificate to the school, even if you already have a child attending our school. Please ensure you return this with your Supplementary Information Form, if relevant. This can be found in the Admissions Policy for the relevant year of entry and follow the guidance as provided.
In-year admissions
We encourage all families considering an in-year application to our school to contact us in advance.
