GCSE Results Day 2026! 🏆 Huge congratulations to our Year 11 students as they celebrate their GCSE results today. Their results reflect years of hard work, determination and personal growth, and we’re incredibly proud of everything they have achieved. Congratulations to our Class of 2026! 🥳 We’re celebrating the achievements of our Class of 2026 and all they have accomplished during their time at The New Sixth. With 73% of grades at A*–C, 98% at A*–E and 20% at A*–A, our students achieved an excellent set of results across a wide range of subjects, with particularly strong results in Art, Biology, English Literature, Drama and Further Maths. From Medicine at the University of Bristol and University of Southampton, to History at the University of Exeter, alongside destinations including Durham, Leeds, UCL and Cardiff, our students are now taking their next steps with confidence. Whether heading to university, a higher-level apprenticeship, employment, a gap year or a new adventure, we couldn’t be prouder of the Class of 2026. A group of our Year 11 and Year 13 students are currently out in Cambodia, sightseeing, enjoying the local culture and supporting a local community project with meals and promoting English language.

Our KS3 Paris Trip students arrived safely back at school in the early hours of Saturday, and we are so proud of their conduct throughout the trip! It was an incredible week in the sun with lots of history, culture, food and friendship! A big thank you to all the students from the staff!

Thanks to Bath City Farm who welcomed Mrs Bowden and our students on a wonderful visit on Friday. Their base in the woodland proved perfect for sketching in the morning, and then later in the round house for lunch and seeing the animals properly in the afternoon. The farm is such a wonderful place, rich in multisensory experiences and learning opportunities. It really brought the very best out of all our attendees who returned so happy at the end of the day.

Day 3 in London More excitement last night with our trip to the theatre followed by a bit of Piccadilly Circus. Today it’s been more sights, ice cream, lots of fish and even more walking. We are certainly getting our steps in and should sleep very well tonight! But it’s been worth it!

The Fire Service visited us today as part of our Enrichment Week. Students enjoyed exploring the fire engine and using the fire hose.

Day 2 of our English London Adventure and we’re really ticking off some of the main sights. The students are dealing well with the heat and they’ve all mastered the Tube! Great morning at The Globe and looking forward to a fancy dinner and a show tonight.

Day 4 on the Paris Enrichment Trip and the students have visited the famous Palace of Versailles and have been learning about the History of France and the French Revolution - staff have been so impressed in how engaged and well behaved students have been.

Great British Summer Savings From 25 June to 1 September 2026, the Government is temporarily cutting VAT from 20% to 5% on children's meals in restaurants, children and family tickets to cinemas, theatres, concerts and exhibitions, and admission to a wide range of attractions. Combined with free bus travel during August for children aged 5 to 15 in England, families and young people will be able to enjoy experiences that make summer special, including visits to the kinds of cultural and educational attractions that enrich children's lives outside the classroom. Next stop on the Paris enrichment trip is Disneyland!

On the first day of enrichment week, a group of students got the opportunity to try out something completely new – indoor skydiving. Sixty miles per hour on the motorway for two hours was nothing compared to the 100mph plus winds that we threw ourselves into for such a unique and exhilarating experience. Maybe it’ll inspire some to do a real skydive one day (Mr Robinson strongly rejects such an idea, a wind tunnel was enough!).

After a very long travel day yesterday, KS3 students have arrived safely in Paris and are joining in the Bastille Day celebrations for enrichment week

Free Bus Travel for Kids! -Great news, once again children aged 5 -15 years including those in Secondary School travel for free on almost all local buses across the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority of B&NES, Bristol, and South Glos over the summer between 18 July to 6 September! There is no need for them to travel with a fare paying adult, so older children can travel independently or with friends.

This week we had our annual Sports Day. This years event was a fantastic spectacle of skill, determination and resilience. We had a huge number of students participate across all our events, with all those competing towards the Sports Day cup.

To every member of the St Gregory’s family, teachers, support staff, office, catering, maintenance and the leadership team and all who give of themselves daily. This is a day we pause to say what’s true all year: you matter profoundly. You show up not just to deliver curriculum, but to build young people who think, question, and care. You see the quiet student who needs an encouraging word. You stay late to mark with care. You create belonging in classrooms where some have known little of it. You model what it means to live the LaSallian values, to touch hearts, to build community, to believe that every single person has dignity and potential. The trips abroad, the assemblies, the pastoral support, the resilience, the laughter in corridors these are not extras. They are the heart of what makes St Gregory’s a place where young people become themselves. Thank you for your conviction that education is more than grades. Thank you for your patience when patience is stretched. Thank you for loving these young people as though they were your own. With deep gratitude.

We are very proud of our 10 Year 12 students who have now successfully completed the Expedition section of their Gold DofE over four challenging days in mid-Wales. Starting at Ty Llewelyn Glamping & Camping near Llanidloes, the team worked their way through camps at Glangwy Farm, Gwersylla Tymawr and an off-grid campsite near Aberystwyth, before finishing at Borth Lifeboat Station, covering some impressive distances along the way. Despite persistent rain for the first two days, the group showed fantastic resilience, teamwork and determination throughout. A brilliant achievement and a real credit to them all.
