Headteacher's Reflections - 24th October 2025

What a way to end a very long term

We are still glowing from the joy of our outstanding Catholic School Inspection judgement; if you haven't already read the report, please do take some time to read it with your family this weekend so that we can all celebrate the great achievements of our whole community.

What a way to end a very long term - an inspection followed by our spectacular Culture and Diversity festival! I wish to thank our brilliant 1719 Society for organising a week of events and activities for everyone in our family to learn from each other and recognise the unifying aspect of humanity which is to be tolerant of any differences. Our sixth form leaders organised for students to learn languages, bring cultural food items to sell in order to raise money for charity, sing their hearts out in Cultural Karaoke and of course come to school in cultural dress to raise awareness of the richness and diversity in our school.

We are all ready for a half term break and I wish you safe travels if you are journeying near or far. Term 2 begins on Monday 3 November at 8.40am where I look forward to seeing students arrive in smart uniform, with all their equipment including a well-stocked pencil case, and ready to continue learning. Here is a final reflection from St John Baptise de La Salle as we head off into our holiday:

Let us remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God - And let us adore Him.

Let me be the change I want to see

To do with strength and wisdom  All that needs to be done

And become the hope that I can be

Set me free from my fears and hesitations

Grant me courage and humility

Fill me with spirit to face the challenge

And start the change I long to see.

Today I start the change I want to see.

Even if I’m not the light

I can be the spark

In faith, service and communion.

The change that begins in me.

Live Jesus in our hearts forever!
