Festive Spirit Aplenty!

On Wednesday our Year 10 Young Volunteer Team (Called to Action) raised £122 by selling hot chocolate, homemade Christmas treats and photos with our very own Santa. It is the first of their fundraisers off the back of a day with the SVP (Society of St Vincent De Paul) focusing on looking for need in our community and trying to make a tangible difference. With the money they’ve raised they will be making meals to hand out to the homeless during cold and miserable January, when the Christmas shoppers and markets have all disappeared but the poverty and struggles continue for so many.

In the last week so many students have been in and around our Chapel creating decorations and table settings for our school hall. Their creativity and enthusiasm has been something to behold!

Yesterday, we celebrated Christmas lunch for all students and staff combined with a dress up day and quiz. Thank you to all those who made so much effort and brought festive cheer to our family. Here are some of our favourite pictures with the dress up winner being Betty G.

Advent Carol Service

We are very much looking forward to our annual Carol Service, which this year will take place at Our Lady & St Alphege Catholic Church. The service will begin at 6.15pm with a mince pie and mulled wine reception in the adjacent hall from 5.20pm. So many of the St Gregory’s Catholic College and St John’s RC Primary communities will be leading us in prayer, scripture and music to help us prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ this Christmas. All parents, carers, families and the wider community are welcome to attend.

Please be aware of the limited street parking in the surrounding area - there are many spaces that are permit only. If you’d find it easier, we are putting on a free Park and Ride coach service from St Gregory’s. Simply park in the school car park and jump on the coach at approximately 5pm or 5.30pm and we’ll take you directly to the Church. Return journeys will be straight after the service.
