Headteacher's Reflections - 6th November 2026

...for all whom we remember this month;fulfil in them the purpose of your love...

Welcome back to Term 2; as the days shorten and the leaves fall from the trees, we spend November remembering those we have loved and lost and those who have fought for our country. This week, Y tutor groups spoke eloquently about the importance of All Saints and All Souls days and our Book of Remembrance is available in our reception area for those who wish to write the names of loved ones they have lost. We remember our former Headteacher, Ms Cusack, may she rest in peace.

As an extension of our fabulous Culture and Diversity festival we welcomed back Kathakali dance troupe who performed a version of Snow White to Year 7 and Year 8 students this week. Thank you to the Performing Arts Department for providing such an enriching cultural experience - no wonder the drama department has been nominated for a prestigious award and do look out for a separate press release about this exciting news!

Next week is Remembrance Day and we will commemorate with Mass at school and attendance at Firs Field Cenotaph with other members of our local community. Students may wear their Cadet, Guides, Scouts, St John Ambulance, etc, uniform to school on Wednesday 11 November and if they wish to be part of the Firs Field commemoration they must speak to Mr Robinson. All other students should wear usual school uniform on the day.

Almighty and eternal God,

from whose love in Christ we cannot be parted,

either by death or life:

hear our prayers and thanksgivings for all whom we remember this month;

fulfil in them the purpose of your love;

and bring us all, with them, to your eternal joy;

through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.
