WHY BUSINESS? 

Business is concerned with the actions and decisions taken by individual firms and focuses on topics such as Marketing, Human Resources, Finance and Production Methods. If you are interested in how businesses operate, grow, and compete you will find this a motivating subject. 

You will acquire the tools and information required to understand how businesses are created and led, as well as gain an insight into how they become successful. You will also discuss how businesses need to respond to economic challenges, changes in trends and consumer spending and consider the ethical dilemmas and responsibilities faced by organisations. 

With A Level Business, you will acquire extremely valuable skills in strategic planning, decision making, problem solving and data analysis. 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 

  • Grade 5 GCSE English and Mathematics 
  • Grade 5 in Business GCSE 
  • A genuine interest in the study of business and the influences on them. 

ASSESSMENT 

Three written papers worth 33.3% each.

EXTRA AND SUPER CURRICULAR 

We intend to visit businesses to investigate how theory is applied in the workplace and invite visitors from industry to share their experiences with you. 

FUTURE PATHWAYS 

University degrees, apprenticeships and careers in Marketing, Accountancy, Business Management, Business Law, Economics, Project Management and much more. 

COMPLEMENTARY A LEVELS 

Economics, Geography, Maths or Core Maths, Politics, Psychology, Sociology.
