Peace is something our hearts deeply long for.
To mark International month of peace, this week's newsletter is a reflection on peace from our Lasallian district. Enjoy!
Peace is something our hearts deeply long for. It is not about living a quiet life or ignoring conflict that may exist, but a way of living and interacting that brings joy, kindness and hope to everyone around us. True peace begins inside each of us; when we choose to love, to forgive and to see the good in others, we witness the fruitful consequences within our communities.
Jesus showed us this path of peace so beautifully. He welcomed the poor, healed the broken and forgave even those who hurt Him. His life reminds us that peace is not about being strong in the eyes of the world, but about being gentle, humble and loving in the eyes of God.
St John Baptist de La Salle too followed this example. He dedicated his life to helping young people grow, not only in knowledge but also in faith and kindness. He believed that creating a spirit of respect and care in the classroom would help build a world of peace beyond it.
Today, we are invited to walk the same road. Every time we choose to listen instead of argue, to forgive instead of hold grudges, to smile instead of judge, we are building bridges of peace. Small acts done with love can change hearts—and when hearts change, so does the world.
Let us pray that we may always carry peace within us and share it freely with others, just as Jesus and St John Baptist de La Salle did.
