Y9 Rugby vs. Ralph Allen
Coming off a fantastic performance last week the Y9 team travelled to Ralph Allen this week to play their second game of the season. A very sluggish start by the team and uncharacteristically missing several key tackles the opposition ran in three quick trys. In wasn’t until halfway through the first half that St. Greg’s started to wake up and strong rucking from the forwards led to a good score from Louis S. St. Greg’s played much better in the second half and trys from Elliot B and a debut try for Pol L-P actually saw the team win the second half. However the poor start really cost us this week. The team must learn from this and make sure we start the game much better next time. Tackling and defending as a team is the important area to improve. A special mention must go to Ieuan G for his heroic tackling at the back saving several certain trys.
Final Score: Ralph Allen 31 – 17 St. Gregory’s

Y10 Rugby vs. Ralph Allen
With a mounting injury list and a few key players missing the Y10 team had a hard task against a strong Ralph Allen team. A strong first half from the hosts had St. Greg’s on the back foot but some good team work at the end of the half led to Ethan L crossing and Fenton D converting. St. Greg’s started the second half much brighter and with Ethan L crossing again the team as a whole were playing much better. Strong work from the likes of Kieran S and the impressive Joe H meant St. Greg’s were winning a lot more ball. This was backed up by some excellent defence from Oliver L and Reuben M. The whole team showed great character in the second half and kept working right till the end. Despite a heavy loss there were many positives to take out and with a few more players returning to the squad next week the team can take some positives from this game.
Final Score: Ralph Allen 48 – St. Gregory’s 12
