A date for your diaries  – The PTFA Annual General Meeting (AGM), being held on Tuesday 5 October at 7pm (venue TBC), is the yearly meeting for all members of the association, inclusive of ALL parents and carers and Saint Gregory’s staff, where elections take place for vacant positions on the PTFA and the year’s events are reported on. It’s an opportunity for the committee to show that it’s accountable for the decisions taken and that the committee members have acted in the best interests of the association and also to discuss the PTFA events for the upcoming year.

The vacant roles for this year include:
  • Charity Secretary
  • Volunteers Co-ordinator
  • Crowdfunding Co-ordinator
  • Events Co-ordinator
  • Fundraising/Bids Coordinator
  • Year Group Coordinators
Each role does not have to be taken on by one individual, they can be shared amongst a number of parents or friends, so please don’t feel daunted by the roles and think they aren’t for you. They just might be! We will be following up on this message and explaining more about the roles over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out if you are interested in one.
Please attend, meet other parents and enjoy a say in how we fundraise for the school and what we spend the fundraising on.
PTFA Newsletter 2021

Our latest newsletter, with updates on the money we have raised, how it’s been spent and our plans for this academic year can all be found in our latest newsletter. Why not have a read and join us at our next get-together in October!

We raised over £1400 last year so thank you all for your support and especially to Sarah for organising and co-ordinating everything. We are planning the next Saint Greg’s pop-up uniform shop in October for all families in current years 7-11.

Please remember that if you have school uniforms to donate to the sale, you can send the washed and ironed clothes into school with your children and there is a container in reception where they can drop them. All proceeds from the sale will be going back into the school and will be allocated towards upcoming projects.

Did you know that in 2019 PTFAs across the UK raised an amazing £121 million for their school communities and gave 3.38 million hours of their time? You’d almost be forgiven for forgetting Saint Gregory’s has a PTFA as we have been rather quiet recently as Covid-19 simply hasn’t allowed us to operate as usual. Although inspite of everything this last 12 months has thrown at us we have managed to hold our first pop-up uniform sale and produce the inaugural Saint Gregory’s cookbook!

However, with things beginning to open up and restrictions being slowly lifted we are turning our thoughts to future projects and are very pleased to announce that we will shortly be holding our AGM (venue TBC) in order to revitalise the PTFA and discuss some new school fundraising projects as well as how to allocate the funds that we currently have school projects.

Remember, you are valued member of the PTFA the moment your child starts to attend Saint Gregory’s. The PTFA benefits everyone involved in the school and you can be involved with us as little or as much as you wish. ANY level of support is welcomed, even if it’s only one event. Whether you are new to the school or have been with us a while, the PTFA are always looking for parents to support and contribute to the fund raising efforts of the school’s charity registered PTFA.

Watch out for announcements coming up in the school newsletter and the Facebook page. It is proven that children do better at school with parents and carers by their side and the PTFA meetings are an amazing source of information and support for you too. Taking part in your child’s school life and supporting their learning and their school shows it’s important to you and that makes a big difference to them.

Email us on if you would like to be an active member of the PTFA or join us on the Facebook page and keep an eye on what we have planned for the future.

Please remember to use easyfundraising when you do your shopping this year.

Over 4,300 shops and sites will donate to St Gregory’s PTFA Bath for FREE when you use easyfundraising to shop with them. This means you can raise donations for us when you buy anything from decorations and festive food shopping to gifts like toys, jewellery, tech, experiences and more!

These donations really help us and all you have to do is use easyfundraising when you’re ordering the things you’ll be buying anyway.

This year, we have raised almost £400 so please help us to continue to build on this and raise money without any significant effort and through everyday spending. It costs nothing, takes very little effort and generates FREE money for us!

If you have Facebook please think about seeking out our page, Saint Gregory’s Bath PTFA, and following us to keep up to date on this, and other initiatives that we are involved with.

Thank you to everyone who performed, supported, coached, directed, choreographed, attended, donated items, bought items, laughed, cried and helped us to celebrate our 40th anniversary on Friday night in amazing style. We couldn’t be prouder of the talent and dedication of everyone involved, as the photos below show.

Lower School Disco – date TBC

It’s bold to state that the Saint Gregory’s Parent Teacher and Friends Association is about hopes and aspirations as well as cakes and coffee mornings. But it is. It’s about the investment of a small amount of time, expertise or money meaning the whole community can reap the dividends. We have ambitious plans for the future and we genuinely believe that a strong parent support body is the best possible way for St Gregory’s to support your child’s education.

How we support Saint Gregory’s…

Projects that the PTFA have supported in the past include:

  • Contribution to the construction of the sixth form, Gateway Building
  • The purchase of five indoor table tennis tables
  • Prize-giving rewards for students
  • Contribution towards the purchase of all-weather table tennis tables

In 2021, the PTFA committee, in consultation with students, staff and senior leaders have committed to supporting:

  • Sponsored the End of Year Rewards Day
  • A donation to the Year 11 and Year 13 Leavers’ Committees
  • Resources for Lego Computer Club
  • Specialist resources for the SEND faculty and Elsa Suite
  • Specialist resources for the Pastoral Centre
  • Video cameras and iPads for the PE department
  • Donation towards the cost of master planning

All of these donations contribute enormously to supporting the teaching and learning at St Gregory’s, enriching the curriculum and our children’s great experiences of school and we want to have the funds to create more and more of them!

How you can help…

We would love you to be involved in your PTFA in any way you can and know that support comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Here are just a few ideas of what you can do, right now, to activate your membership:

Join in any of our PTFA meetings

We hold our meetings once a term, generally on a Tuesday evening, from 6-7pm to discuss forthcoming events at the school and how we can support, share ideas for fundraising or simply to welcome new parents/carers! Everyone is welcome, all we ask is that you let us know if you intend to join us so that we can make sure we have enough cups, saucers or wine glasses to go around!

Email us at if you can help!

Sign up to Easy Fundraising

Every time you spend money online through one of their partners (Sainsbury’s, Tesco, John Lewis,, M&S etc.) they donate a small amount to your chosen charity. It’s basically FREE MONEY! If you normally shop in Sainsbury’s or Tesco for your weekly food, why not consider going online to order? You get your groceries delivered to your door and could raise up to 50p per order – that’s a whopping £26 per year! Consider if only half of our families did this and that would amount to £7,800 per year. If every family committed to it, we’d raise £15,600 for FREE!

Donate your time

We are always on the look-out for willing volunteers or a helping pair of hands to help out at fundraising events. It’s not all tea, coffee, cake and wine! Sometimes it’s about sharing your journey with new families, welcoming prospective parents and carers to our community or simply offering your skills as a professional so that we and the school can benefit from your knowledge and expertise. Email us at for more information or just to let us know you’re interested!

Donate your money

We understand that, for some parents and carers, they would rather give a one-off donation or monthly donation to the PTFA. We are working towards a new scheme to facilitate donations easily and effectively, also allowing us to claim Gift Aid on your donations and we hope this will be launched soon. If you’re interested in supporting through a regular donation, please get in touch via email

Business Sponsors

We’re keen to develop mutually beneficial partnerships with local businesses and would love to hear from you if you own a business or if you work for a company that provides support to local charities. This could be in the form of:

TIME – some companies offer charitable schemes donating their employees for projects;

FINANCIAL – some companies will donate for specific projects to enhance school communities or facilities;

GOODS & SERVICES – many businesses will donate to raffles and auctions helping us to raise funds through events.

If you are a business, or you know of a business that may help, please get in touch. We would love to fill this newsletter with the St Gregory’s PTFA official sponsors’ logos and thank them publicly for their support of our school.
