The Saint Gregory’s PTFA are excited to be a part of the Big PTA Christmas Raffle. After the last 18 months, we are determined to get our fundraising back on track and this is an opportunity to have some fun and raise money for our school.

For every ticket purchased, you will have 12 chances to win up to £5,000!* At the same time, we will raise 50% from every ticket sold supporting our PTA. It’s a fantastic way to bring parents, carers, teachers and the wider community together, in partnership with our PTA, and at the same time give something back. We hope to raise funds that can support and enrich the education of our children – we aim to provide extra resources for the children, improve the school environment, as well as run extracurricular activities such as music, art and sport.

We have been chatting with Mrs Tuke, our Director of Pastoral Care, and she has asked us to donate PTFA funds towards the end-of-term rewards events for years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11. These include ice-skating, movies and bowling as well as an in-school event. We are delighted to announce that we have agreed to donate proceeds from the raffle ticket sale to this very worthy cause. So if you haven’t yet bought tickets, please do so as now you know exactly how we are spending your money! Link below:

Your support is greatly appreciated and we wish you good luck!

Huge thanks to everyone who joined us at the meeting and great to share ideas! Minutes of the meeting can be found below:

Committee minutes 16.11.21

After our first meeting the PTFA are excited to announce that we are hoping to raise £10,000 over this academic year for projects within the school for the benefit of all the students. We will keep you updated as we work towards this. Please don’t forget to help us out in any way you can – whether it’s raffle tickets, Easyfundraising, the 50/50 club or any of our upcoming events. Thanks everyone for your support.

AGM minutes and reports can be found at the bottom of this page.

We raised over £1400 last year so thank you all for your support and especially to Sarah for organising and co-ordinating everything. We are planning the next Saint Greg’s pop-up uniform shop for after Christmas for all families in current years 7-11 and will confirm dates as soon as we can.

Parents/carers will need to book in advance via this link to School Gateway, or via the School Gateway App in the same way as you would book appointments for parents’ evenings – just scroll down and find PTFA Uniform Shop!

Please remember that if you have school uniforms to donate to the sale, you can send the washed and ironed clothes into school with your children and there is a container in reception where they can drop them. All proceeds from the sale will be going back into the school and will be allocated towards upcoming projects.

PTFA AGM Tuesday 5 October

Over the last few years, our PTFA has been enormously successful, and we owe a great deal of thanks to everyone who has enabled this. With the support of all the parents, carers staff and students who have engaged with our activities, it has raised almost £20,000 in just the last two years alone – an incredible achievement by any standards, not to mention most of this was during a pandemic! This money has been spent on a range of projects from end of year rewards days, bouncy slides and ice creams, to SEND and Pastoral Care resources, Lego Club and much more. The AGM minutes and reports can be found at the bottom of this page so that you can see how we have been spending your donations.

Unfortunately, we have been less successful at recruiting active new members to fill committee posts! If you have ever considered joining the PTFA committee or playing a more active part, then we really need you to come forward. Details of the roles that we would ideally like to fill are on our below:

  • Year Group Representatives
  • Events Co-ordinator
  • Volunteers Co-ordinator

We would also love to welcome one or two Vice Chair(s) – members who can work alongside us this year or step in temporarily when our own work and family commitments mean we can be less active. These roles don’t have to be onerous or time-consuming, just a willingness to help shape what we do and how we do it!

If you cannot attend our next meeting on Tuesday 16 November – and we do fully understand that many of you have demanding work or family commitments – but would still like to help, please email us and we will do our best to find a role that suits your circumstances.

On a more positive note, we would like to welcome and thank Monica who is stepping in as our Bids and Grants Coordinator. Monica will be making applications for company and charity grants to support our work and specific projects at the school. If you work for an organisation with a charity donation scheme, please let us know.

Our thanks also to Kylie for taking on sole responsibility of the Treasurer post and to Jeremy who has kindly offered to take the role of Secretary. We will step into a shared Chair and Crowdfunding Co-ordinator role for the time being but with a view to stepping back at the next AGM in October 2022. We would love to be in a position to handover the PTFA in great shape for future generations and families to enjoy!

Please keep an eye out in the school newsletter and the Facebook page or email us on if you would like to be an active member of the PTFA or to find our what we have planned for the future.

With best wishes,

Lisa and Paula

PTFA Newsletter 2021

Our latest newsletter, with updates on the money we have raised, how it’s been spent and our plans for this academic year can all be found in our latest newsletter. Why not have a read and join us at our next get-together in October!

Sign up to Easy Fundraising

Every time you spend money online through one of their partners (Sainsbury’s, Tesco, John Lewis,, M&S etc.) they donate a small amount to your chosen charity. It’s basically FREE MONEY! If you normally shop in Sainsbury’s or Tesco for your weekly food, why not consider going online to order? You get your groceries delivered to your door and could raise up to 50p per order – that’s a whopping £26 per year! Consider if only half of our families did this and that would amount to £7,800 per year. If every family committed to it, we’d raise £15,600 for FREE!

2019 PTFA & Performing Arts Fundraiser: ‘Through the Decades’

Thank you to everyone who performed, supported, coached, directed, choreographed, attended, donated items, bought items, laughed, cried and helped us to celebrate our 40th anniversary on Friday night in amazing style. We couldn’t be prouder of the talent and dedication of everyone involved, as the photos below show.

How you can help…

We would love you to be involved in your PTFA in any way you can and know that support comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Here are just a few ideas of what you can do, right now, to activate your membership:

How we support Saint Gregory’s…

Projects that the PTFA have supported in the past include:

  • Contribution to the construction of the sixth form, Gateway Building
  • The purchase of five indoor table tennis tables
  • Prize-giving rewards for students
  • Contribution towards the purchase of all-weather table tennis tables

In 2021, the PTFA committee, in consultation with students, staff and senior leaders have committed to supporting:

  • Sponsored the End of Year Rewards Day
  • A donation to the Year 11 and Year 13 Leavers’ Committees
  • Resources for Lego Computer Club
  • Specialist resources for the SEND faculty and Elsa Suite
  • Specialist resources for the Pastoral Centre
  • Video cameras and iPads for the PE department
  • Donation towards the cost of master planning

All of these donations contribute enormously to supporting the teaching and learning at St Gregory’s, enriching the curriculum and our children’s great experiences of school and we want to have the funds to create more and more of them!

Join in any of our PTFA meetings

We hold our meetings once a term, generally on a Tuesday evening, from 6-7pm to discuss forthcoming events at the school and how we can support, share ideas for fundraising or simply to welcome new parents/carers! Everyone is welcome, all we ask is that you let us know if you intend to join us so that we can make sure we have enough cups, saucers or wine glasses to go around!

Email us at if you can help!

Donate your time

We are always on the look-out for willing volunteers or a helping pair of hands to help out at fundraising events. It’s not all tea, coffee, cake and wine! Sometimes it’s about sharing your journey with new families, welcoming prospective parents and carers to our community or simply offering your skills as a professional so that we and the school can benefit from your knowledge and expertise. Email us at for more information or just to let us know you’re interested!

Donate your money

We understand that, for some parents and carers, they would rather give a one-off donation or monthly donation to the PTFA. We are working towards a new scheme to facilitate donations easily and effectively, also allowing us to claim Gift Aid on your donations and we hope this will be launched soon. If you’re interested in supporting through a regular donation, please get in touch via email

Business Sponsors

We’re keen to develop mutually beneficial partnerships with local businesses and would love to hear from you if you own a business or if you work for a company that provides support to local charities. This could be in the form of:

TIME – some companies offer charitable schemes donating their employees for projects;

FINANCIAL – some companies will donate for specific projects to enhance school communities or facilities;

GOODS & SERVICES – many businesses will donate to raffles and auctions helping us to raise funds through events.

If you are a business, or you know of a business that may help, please get in touch. We would love to fill this newsletter with the St Gregory’s PTFA official sponsors’ logos and thank them publicly for their support of our school.
