Dear Parents and Carers,

Year 13 students have now entered the very final phase of their A Level curriculum. Our encouragement remains for them to manage their workload carefully and to make sure that they are also finding time for the things they enjoy. Many are looking studious in the LRC during free periods and all should remember that myself and Miss Bowman (Head of Year 13) are always on hand to offer support and advice.

Miss Butler, Director of Sixth at Saint Gregory’s

Our expectation is for students to continue to attend all lessons until the start of study leave on Friday 18th May as this is the last vital contact students have with the subject specialists.

Year 12 students visited UWE Bristol this week for the UCAS exhibition; their conduct was exemplary and they all praised the event saying it offered them good advice and helped them think more about their next steps. We strongly encourage students to keep this momentum and to use the Unifrog site to search for University courses and/or Apprenticeship placements that might suit them.

Year 12 exams will be the week beginning the 4th June and these will impact the predicted grades that are offered for their applications. Knowing what they want to work towards is a key element to ensure their motivation to succeed.

Miss Lucy Butler, Director of Sixth Form St. Gregory’s
