Enormous congratulations to Ella B in Year 11 who has won her age category in this year’s exhibition, at 44AD artspace Bath, with her oil painting on canvas. The competition is about communication in the commonwealth, and the piece was chosen as for its representation of the diversity present in our commonwealth countries, as well as how people celebrate being a citizen of one country while having heritage in other nations also. Ella painted the piece to celebrate diversity in our midst, and more specifically amongst her friendship group, with her friend and fellow St Greg’s student as model!

The Art of Communication exhibition was open to submission entries from all artists (school age to professional) living in Bath and North East Somerset with selected artworks chosen for display throughout the exhibition.

Ella received her prize on Sunday from Michael Eavis who presented her with a wonderful selection of artists’ materials as well as a trophy. The current Bath Mayor, Councillor Gerry Curran was also in attendance and congratulated Ella on her fantastic achievements.

Ella’s piece will be on display at the Royal Commonwealth Society Bath artists’ prize and exhibition: The Art of Communication (in the Commonwealth) at 44AD artspace from 6 – 16 March and will be open to the public with free admission from 12pm – 5pm (Sun 1pm – 4pm).
