A group of 25 students from three schools in Vigo, Spain, IES San Tomé de Freixeiro, Colegio Plurilingüe Alba and O Castro British International School, visited Saint Gregory’s from 17 October to 3 November 2022, as part of a Vigo municipality initiative for students to experience programmes of intensive language and cultural learning.

These Spanish students, aged 14 and 15 years, joined lessons in Year 10, experiencing a broad range of subject classes across the curriculum.  Friendships were formed with Year 10 student buddies and classmates from Saint Gregory’s, enabling reciprocal learning of many interesting aspects of each other’s countries, cultures and languages.

The Spanish students were presented with certificates by Headteacher, Ms Cusack, in a special ceremony at the end of their stay, in recognition of their time at Saint Gregory’s.

Internationalism is firmly embedded at Saint Gregory’s, equipping students with a wide range of skills relevant for life and work in today’s global world.
