This term, a new group of Year 7 students have joined our Mandarin Excellence Programme and have proudly received their certificates for joining the programme. In February, during the Chinese New Year, our Year 7 MEP students have been enjoying performing a wonderful traditional dragon dance and singing the Gongxi Gongxi Chinese New Year celebration song. They even got to act out the song with a real Chinese New Year lion.
Both our Year 7 and Year 8 MEP students are welcoming our international linked school students from Hang Zhou, China by sharing language tips and exploring Chinese and British culture . This will see them doing ice breaker activities, quizzing, producing Chinese handcrafts and write calligraphy. It is a wonderful opportunity for our MEP students to practise their language in an authentic way!
